An easy way to visualize the staggering volume mobilized by that #glacialcollapse destroyed #Bhotekoshi along the #Nepal-Tibet border!
It’s hard to fathom the sheer scale of the devastation that occurred in Nepal and Tibet. The latest estimates suggest that the glacier-rock collapse mobilized more than 142 million m³ of material. Here’s what that volume looks like when placed over Manhattan, New York City for scale.

True that. Every barrel drilled today fuels tomorrow’s fire, undoubtedly. Pragmatism without climate integrity is indeed denial, flat and irreversible. #ClimateCrisis #ClimateAction #NowForClimate #KeepItInTheGround

#EarthOvershootDay tells us we’re consuming more than nature can renew, in other words living beyond our ecological means.
This year, July 30 is #EarthOvershootDay.

Unfortunately, that means humanity’s demand for ecological resources in a given year has exceeded what Earth can regenerate.
