@aftmass.bsky.social President @jessjtang.bsky.social is right. We have to think about how we build a democracy that is more equitable and more just. And not just how we build a democracy, but how we deliver for working people.

Diesel gas prices have reached record highs, and farmers are feeling it in their already tight margins. Consumers are tired of how expensive everything is, but if fuel costs aren’t addressed, prices will keep climbing, and millions will suffer the financial strain. www.cbsnews.com/news/us-dies...
Soaring U.S. diesel prices slam local communities as fuel costs surge

@rweingarten.bsky.social is calling on governors to reject Trump's voucher program, arguing public dollars should be spent in ways that benefit public schools—which 90% of America’s students attend—but that public school parents would be left “hunting for stray pennies” under the voucher scheme.
Treasury releases rules for nation’s first federal school voucher program
With the arrival of the long-awaited rules, Democratic governors are under more pressure to say whether they will opt in.

A win for borrowers: @usdeptofed.bsky.social extended the deadline for its 1% interest-rate reduction through Dec. 31. But borrowers are still being hit with higher payments and a confusing repayment system. This extension should be the start—not the finish. www.businessinsider.com/student-loan...

Orban tried to control what teachers can teach. While we visited the schools, they showed us his text books. They called them state text books versus free textbooks. That was striking.
