The behavior of the president over the past 72 hours affirms what the world has known for weeks: He's becoming more frighteningly unfit for the position he holds every day.

Trump may turn the world upside-down at any moment -- on a whim.

It still boggles the mind that we literally allow election interference through donations because the Supreme Court decided that spending money to influence an election is a constitutionally protected form of free speech. (Citizens United v. FEC, 2010)🙄

No, he's not allowed to sit at the table. And he's in my chair.

The richest man owns X.

The second and fourth richest men control Google.

The third richest man owns The Washington Post.

The sixth richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

And now the seventh richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros.

See the problem here?

There are no guardrails, just sycophants, so this is absolutely a real possibility. This is like being trapped behind iron bars while being forced to watch a toddler with a loaded gun.

This nihilism, and watching the United States break bad, will sap you -- the depth and breadth of the corruption alone.

We're all tired, but keep fighting. I have to believe we're going to set things right in time. There is much to restore.

Trump on Friday (Aug. 14, 2026):

“Pretty soon I’ll be declaring the Hormuz Strait a territory of the United States.”

His ineptitude precludes any chance of adult diplomacy. This infantile bullshit is going to get more American soldiers, sailors and airmen killed. The region is still bubbling.

Trump's staggeringly lucrative corruption suggests there's method to his madness.

But there's also madness to his madness.

This administration's ineptitude is dangerous and growing more so by the day.

Trump is bored with the Middle East. He’d rather build monuments to himself, paint others gold and improve D.C. golf courses. I wonder if he ever thinks about the 18 members of the U.S. armed services who have died in his war, which he’s now assuring us will “all work out.”

Trump chickens out regularly, but not until his market position is in place. His saber rattling works the same way. The scale of his corruption is astonishing, and I really don’t believe the president gives a damn about the people who are dying so he can fatten his wallet.

They need to hammer down relentlessly on this. They can't become overconfident, like they did with Hillary in 2016.
