Aotearoa, have you all heard about the new Boring Fund? They're fundraising to provide $500 no strings grants to cover the 'boring' things charities need, but often can't spend grants on: printer ink, power bills, accounting, web hosting, whatever.

I mean if Springer Nature publish a book with this in a chapter, what is the role of an editor?

New study suggests that a shortage of secure bike parking is limiting e-bike adoption.
Glad to see this issue getting attention. It's intuitive that people with quasi-secure bike storage might be OK risking a pedal bike, but not an e-bike that's more expensive.

This is good bike parking. It has angular tubing, which prevents the quiet use of pipe cutters for theft. The racks are also spaced far enough apart to allow for larger bikes to be parked with room for the rider to maneuver while on foot. Also, this is entrance-adjacent to the building.

I had a wild interaction with a support chatbot this morning. It suggested a variety of helpful steps (which I'd already completed), and then suggested I open a chatbot and raise a specialist. I replied, am I not already in the support chat, isn't that your job to raise the specialist?

Thinking about the dry weather in Ireland... and that new Shannon-to-Dublin pipeline. 19 of the last 30 days where the flow in the Shannon has been at the legal minimum, so would be presumably no water available for the pipeline?

Simply put, this is a loophole that needs to be closed. Shops (even reputable shops), should not be selling illegal vehicles with a small disclaimer that they can only be used on private land, and never on public roads, footpaths or cycle paths
