Ok I'm at the Union Landing multiplex to see Digger, which costs $11 on Senior Day but I'm saving butt loads of money watching educational shorts about what future movies to avoid. They call them "previews."

Now I'm at Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre to see "Antony and Cleopatra," directed by the fabulous Katja Rivera! With a 6 person cast. I've seen A&C done by a cast of 7, but 6? That's a first!

Today's choice: go to the opera, or the silent movie in Niles. I moved my opera ticket to next week and I made TWO TIMES the right decision, because the 1922 Robin Hood royally rulze, and also the opera ended up cancelled. The orchestra is on strike!

Okay this was yesterday but Midsummer Nights Dream at Hinkel Park! I normally have to zoom in on curtain calls but we were in the front row and I can't figure out panorama mode on my phone.

Train Drama! S11 is to leave from platform 13 but the S6 to Essen is just sitting there like a lump so they reroute the S11 to platform 10 but then back to platform 14 and boom I've missed the train! Fortunately the S1 goes to the remote airport station, so I get to ride the dangly train!

Unexpected downtime in Hanover! Even German trains don't always make the connection. Happily there is an outdoor cafe that has giant fruit/yogurt parfaits.

Curtain call for a delightful and goofy Freischutz. Samiel got promoted to lead, and a sexy devil she was, too! ...and Max was sexy too. The whole orchestra was sexy! (I was sitting next to the orchestra).

Braunschweig has EVERYTHING! An old castle or something, a ferris wheel, and ME! It's only got me until tomorrow morning but the other two things are hanging out longer, you should visit.

I'm off on my way to the next adventure, but I have to add one thing about Bayreuth - this guy, this guy here, is no mere mortal. Parsifal Tuesday, then Rienzi the very next night, both nights BTTW dementia. Will he be Max tonight in Der Freischutz? I wouldn't rule it out.

Rienzi! The singing: demented! The set: super demented! The direction: kinda shite. Not the first time I've wished Bayreuth would have a different director restage the thing on the same set.

Bayreuth has tons of these li'l Wagners scattered about (the original wasn't much bigger iirc) and this one caught my eye because he's weirdly segmented at the waist. I can't be the only mook who thinks of the elevator scene in Omen 2...

Just back from a Kick-Ass Parsifal! Sign sez no photos but everybody else was snapping the curtain call so here. Superb soloists, then the support cast, then the orchestra. Plus a saucy little closeup of our Klingsor, who wins the Sexiest Villain trophy in a landslide.

Just back from a Kick-Ass Parsifal! Sign sez no photos but everybody else was snapping the curtain call so here. Superb soloists, then the support cast, then the orchestra. Plus a saucy little closeup of our Klingsor, who wins the Sexiest Villain trophy in a landslide.
I'm startin' ta think all you religious people need ta be a BIT more specific when ya asks God to summon home an 80-year-old...

...and now I'm at the Festspielhaus! An interesting walk up; I felt overdressed when I left the hotel and everybody was wearing tshirts, but here everybody has tuxes and I'm underdressed. There's probably a sweet spot near the train station where I'd just be dressed.
