Just going to keep saying this - the fossil fuel crisis stopped being segmented and is now persistent and probably perpetual. The only way to protect yourself from this is to lobby your politicians to end reliance on this war-torn, unreliable, expensive fuel and switch to modern technology instead.

"The copper bear case is always human invention - amazing jumps in power density (kW/L) which maps very closely to reduced copper content. In this case, about a 75% cut in copper per kW of charger."

These maritime chokepoints do create geographical separation of regional markets, with costs and revenues rising or falling for different importers and exporters in different regions.

The overall effects on prices are remarkably small, less than 0.5 $/t in most scenarios. In case of a disruption to traffic in the South and East China seas, China could become reliant on domestic and rail-borne imports from Mongolia and Russia at an increase in costs of about 10 $/t.

Our analysis shows global coal markets are resilient to such maritime chokepoints. Trade flows are readily re-directed. In case of restrictions to the Panama Canal, Colombian exports of thermal coal originally bound for Japan are redirected to Europe, whilst Japan increases supplies from Indonesia

There are more relevant chokepoints. The Panama Canal has seen restrictions due drought, the Suez Canal was blocked, there's militant groups in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Black Sea is an active warzone. The Malacca Strait, the Taiwan Strait, and the South China Sea may be future chokepoints

So how long will it take the DC blob complex to accept:
- US lost with Iran
- Iran still sucks
- The only way to pay them less is to use less oil and LNG from them AND
- Build diversion pipelines etc

??

This is hard because green left hates all pipelines, and blob takes a lot of oil money.

A milestone achieved on Australia's main electricity grid, the NEM.
Energy discharged from utility batteries over the last 12 months now exceeds generation from peaking (OCGT) gas turbines.
