I get that I’m “The ZIM guy” but this is always the kind of stuff that inspires me. In fact certain movies, this, Don’t Look Up, Beau is Afraid, they always make me think of the kind of worlds I obsess over, for how grotesque and how possessed of a desire to say something, even something hideous.

I feel like some people in animation fandoms keep lists of Acceptable and Unacceptable ships, and would absolutely be using them to run brutal real life show-trials if society went maybe 20% further downhill.

I have finally listened to a translation of The Odyssey.
Very enjoyable! Though on his return, Odysseus 'Secret Boss'-ing one of his old slaves to say 'sure your story is bad but MY life has been hard as well' was quite funny.

I saw Digger... I really enjoyed it!
There are excellent performances, including from Cruise, and it evolves in a way you may not expect from the bombastic trailer.
It was not entirely the film I expected it to be... and that was an entirely pleasant surprise.
