The Community Health Initiative of OC annual event was a family affair. My SIL and I spoke tonight about the anxiety of living without access to health insurance. Honored to serve on the BoD for this NPO to help our most vulnerable residents.

I was so proud to lobby for AB 1682 this year. Scalp cooling allows #cancer patients to keep their hair during chemo. Another take is this treatment gives folks a chance to seize control over the uncontrollable. A huge #mentalhealth boost toward recovery. www.kpbs.org/news/health/...
A new California law may help more cancer patients keep their hair
The new law will expand coverage of FDA-cleared scalp-cooling technology for some cancer patients starting Jan. 1.

Hoping this #CALeg will pass next year. My sister was placed for adoption as an infant. Grateful I found her later in life, but she couldn’t get her OG birth certificate. Obtaining access to health history is important, but it’s also about mental health and finding peace through answers.

I continue to be fucking flabbergasted at the media reporting Dennis Hastert had a "fall from grace," which is a weird way to say he was caught paying hush money to cover up sexually abusing teenage boys.

Jan Crawford: Well, many people had organized their lives around Roe v. Wade.

Alito: No, they didn't. Women merely had an "abstract" interest in "ideas about the kind of society that they were going to live in."

The reports about the rapes at Cornell—and the lack of accountability—are sickening.

So is the victim blaming: “If you don’t want to be raped, don’t go to a frat party.”

Instead of telling girls and women to avoid harm, we should be raising boys and men not to commit it:

Don’t. Rape. Women.
