The key difference IMO between flock and speed cameras is the former creates new channels for abuse of power whereas the latter automates a law enforcement task in a way that is more equitable. But I do worry that the importance of this distinction is lost on both sides.

It is perfectly possible to deliver excellent urban transport solutions without building 20-year traffic forecasting models.

In fact, those models are pretty much nonsense and offer near-zero insight to the process.
What’s a thing from your area of expertise (or special interest) that you think it would behoove everyone else to know?

The hating on quick-build bike lane networks by pro-bike academics and advocates is silly rage bait, so I hope they don’t discourage you. Absolutely support premium infrastructure, but establish networks now that get people riding now.

Hot take - after the 2nd half of Penrose Square gets built, Blues Fest should permanently move to the Square. Blue Fest where parents can sip a beer and listen to the blues while their kids splash in the water is 🔥🔥🔥 but it doesn't fully work with the existing grade change to the parking lot.
