Senator Angela Alsobrooks
@alsobrooks.senate.gov
United States Senator for Maryland.
We must regulate digital assets, protect consumers, and give innovation room to grow. But innovation cannot come at the expense of ethics and accountability.

AI innovation is moving fast, and we have a responsibility to make sure it moves forward responsibly. I’m going to be pushing for guardrails that protect our privacy, strengthen cybersecurity, and keep Americans safe.

I was glad to meet with Liberian President Joseph Boakai to discuss the longstanding ties between Maryland and Liberia and opportunities to strengthen our partnership through trade, health care, education, and economic development.

This ruling is a win for Maryland voters.

The Supreme Court rejected the Trump Administration’s latest attempt to restrict mail-in voting ahead of the midterms. Mail-in voting is safe and secure, and our democracy is stronger when every eligible voter can participate.

This Administration has been an unmitigated disaster. The American people won’t be fooled.
September 14, 2026 at 8:29 PM
Americans deserve a Health Secretary focused on protecting their health, not his personal vanity projects.

I joined @hassan.senate.gov to demand answers about how much taxpayer money, staff time, and HHS resources are being spent on RFK Jr's podcast and cooking show.

A new year brings a new opportunity for reflection, renewal, and hope. Wishing everyone in Maryland and beyond celebrating Rosh Hashanah a sweet and peaceful year ahead. Shana Tova!

It was great to welcome Senator Craig Zucker and the Maryland Democratic Senate Caucus Fellows to the Capitol this summer. I enjoyed hearing about the conversations they’ve had with Marylanders while knocking doors and what they’ve learned about the issues that matter most across our state.

Happy Labor Day, Maryland!

Today, we honor the workers who are the backbone of our nation and the unions that stand beside them. I will always fight to ensure every worker is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.
September 7, 2026 at 5:28 PM
I want to thank my summer intern class for all of their hard work this semester. From assisting constituents to supporting our team each day, their contributions made a real impact across our offices and throughout Maryland.

American families deserve to know that their food is safe.

Under RFK Jr.'s leadership and after this Administration fired safety experts at the FDA, CDC, and USDA, Cyclospora is surging and food recalls are now commonplace.
September 1, 2026 at 8:16 PM
We’re keeping a record of every decision made by RFK Jr. and HHS because there will come a day when we have to rebuild what has been broken and restore trust in our nation’s public health system.
August 31, 2026 at 5:40 PM
It was great to join seniors in Garrett County.

Marylanders deserve affordable housing, groceries, health care, and the security they’ve worked a lifetime to earn. I’ll keep fighting in the Senate to protect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and our civil liberties.
August 28, 2026 at 7:40 PM
We can tie the measles crisis in our country right now directly to the disinformation coming from RFK Jr.
August 28, 2026 at 3:53 PM
We are experiencing a measles crisis in America right now. And all at the hands of HHS Secretary RFK Jr.

Americans deserve to know the truth and the facts: vaccines are safe.

RFK Jr. refuses to tell the truth – Americans can’t afford another day with him in charge.
August 27, 2026 at 9:05 PM
I'll be joining Dana Bashon Inside Politics at 12 noon today to discuss why I think RFK Jr. must resign or be fired immediately.
August 27, 2026 at 3:37 PM
I was the first Senator to call on RFK Jr. to resign or be fired in May 2025, and I will keep making that call.

Under his leadership we've had the worst measles outbreak in 35 years — including a new outbreak in three Maryland counties and two deaths in Pennsylvania.

The FBI headquarters belongs in Greenbelt, Maryland. It’s what I fought for as Prince George’s County Executive and it’s a fight I have continued in the United States Senate. I will keep fighting to make sure these taxpayer dollars create jobs and opportunity across our entire region.
August 25, 2026 at 10:22 PM
President Trump calls voting by mail “cheating”—yet votes by mail himself?

Mail voting ensures our seniors, military, students, and Americans with disabilities can have access to the voting booth. We will fight to make sure ALL Americans can vote.
August 25, 2026 at 7:45 PM
RFK Jr.'s lies and conspiracy theories are making Marylanders sick.

RFK Jr. must resign or be fired. Vaccines are safe and effective. Listen to your pediatrician.
August 25, 2026 at 3:00 PM
As Prince George’s County Executive, I fought to bring the FBI headquarters to Maryland, and I’m continuing that fight as a U.S. Senator.

Greenbelt, Maryland was selected after a years-long competitive process and the court has made it clear that Trump can’t just toss that work aside.
August 20, 2026 at 6:31 PM
Greenbelt, Maryland was selected as the new FBI headquarters after a decades-long, fair, competitive process and the Trump Admin had no right to override it.

The court agreed.

Team Maryland will keep fighting to bring the FBI’s new headquarters to Maryland.
August 18, 2026 at 5:48 PM
No parent should have to take on debt just to get their kids ready for school.

My Back-to-School Supplies Affordability Act would get Trump’s tariffs off essential school supplies and bring costs down for families.
August 17, 2026 at 2:24 PM
Parents deserve vaccine guidance they can trust based on rigorous research, proven safety and efficacy, and the best available medical evidence. Not politics, nor conspiracy theories. And certainly not whatever RFK Jr. decides they want the science to say.
