More repairs for this week. Can understand the seasonality of repairs with pressure washes leaking after winter frosts or hedge trimmer cable cuts in summer/ autumn but why the rush of big steam irons in Sept/Oct! #Repair

3-7 Deg C above average!
Hot Sept temps day and night!

It’s time the BBC and all other media channels change the way they present weather with much more clarity on how far we are from ‘average’. How much warmer, how much less rain. Etc.

@thecccuk.bsky.social - airlines have to pay to suck carbon out of atmosphere in order to make Heathrow viable. Did you really say that? Time for CCC to stop pretending future tech will undo bad decisions on allowing emissions to continue and grow in the case of aviation.

Ooh… sw geek tells us AI could kill us all. Has he heard of the climate emergency? I’d put it at 50:50 for survival right now. Humans don’t need AI making life even more stressful. Stop using AI. say no to data centres and fossil fuels. Both toxins to a good life.

The remaining seasonal records from 1976 were all broken by a significant margin this year. (These were the seasonal average Tmax for England and UK)

Maintenance & Repair. So so many things failing because of poor or lack of maintenance. Vacuum cleaners, hairdryers, garden electrical tools, bicycles, houses. We really need to have routine checks to make sure our stuff lasts. Don’t wait for a repair. Sometimes that’s too late. #Repair
