This “advice” is pretty much describing what civic tech was and was growing towards before DOGE rolled in and tossed it all.

I have recurring annual calendar events for certain "grief seasons," even for things that happened almost a decade ago.
It's good to have a reminder for my brain about what's happening in my body, especially years after the fact when I might not be as focused on specific dates as an anniversary.

Hey as fall and winter and cold and darkness approach, have all of us considered on an individual level how to deal with trauma anniversaries? That winter was brutal but winter is returning and if you are not particularly introspective, now may be a good time to start.

underrated part of El-Sayed’s messaging strategy seems to be shaming journalists who ask dumb questions that play into right-wing frames. you can’t answer these in a way that satisfies them, but you can make it embarrassing enough that you impose a toll on asking.

I know the U says they don't have an "official" tagline, I but I kind of dig "Try Everything. Be Anything." What is amazing about the U is the scale and scope of majors that students have to choose from. Unlike states such as Iowa which splits programs between UIowa and ISU, the U truly has it all.

IT WAS WORSE TODAY.
Ahh, signs of the new school year. Buses puttering down the street, kids in backpacks, and whole FLEET of cars fully parked in the "Drop off and go, no parking" lane in front of the building.
Also saw a parent car try to creep through a crosswalk where the patrol had the flags down! Great!
