A pretty orange eye for this weeks #Souleyesproject .
I had big plans this year to actually turn Amberdew into a side hussle, however I found something else I would rather try out first. I think it’s more substainable right now.
Amberdew-as-a-business is smth I want to come back later though👍 #art

I totally forgot to upload last weeks #Souleyesproject 🫣
There is so much going on right now (I am actually working on setting up 2 different streams of income) & I was focusing a lot on YouTube, so I forgot my Bsky 😅
Anyways, here is last weeks little guy!

#Turtles and turtoises are one of the most long-lived beings on earth. Looking at them always makes me feel like I am in the presence of something way smarter than me.
But in the way of connecting with your own self all animals are way smarter than us humans ;O

Honestly, getting everything ready for starting a small business involves more than I thought. Within the last 4 months I thought myself how to vectorize, use Darktable & Kdenlive and setup my new printer correctly. Thinking about learning Affinity now.
Can’t remember the last time I learned so much

It looks kinda ugly but also funny 😂 Prey animals often have these bulging eyes so they see predators more easily but it makes them look kinda weird in frontal view.
I still think they are kinda adorable 🤭

I struggle a bit with printing my own artworks. At least I found out how to properly set up my printer & found some useful adjustments in darktable.
Just need to figure out how to make even better pictures of my artworks and decide on a good paper. Trying out these different papers right now #artist

Just worked on my new souleyes painting and it turned out so ugly 🫣
Granted, the reference photo looked pretty weird as well (frontal shot of a prey animal with its bulging side-eyes always looks a bit weird) but still 😂
I will try to save it a bit. Otherwise… well, it’s a failed Souleyes for once 😅

Did the tiktok algorithm change again?
I am just a tiny artist so I don’t get many views anyway, mostly around 700-900 per video. But the last few videos barely reached 50 people, what’s going on?
I didnt change anything in the way I make my videos 🧐

Time for the next #Souleyesproject painting! This one will be available as a print when I open my shop!
I struggle right now with setting up my printer & finding the right settings AND the correct paper to make the print look good, so it will still take a while 😅

I feel like Bluesky sadly isnt the best place of you want to built a business. It is great to casually talk with other artists and see what they are doing, but it feels like posting into a void otherwise.
And I know that’s how at least 70% of artists feel.

Considering the amount of licences I need to just be able to sell within the EU I guess I will just stick to my own country. It´s very annoying because I would like to ship my art to other countries as well but the bureaucracy is just insane.

A new big painting is done. I stared this one 2 weeks ago so I had enough time to finish it for this weeks #Souleyesproject.
Definitely one of my more colourful ones 😁 TikTok-video about its creation process will upload soon!

Slowly but surely my desk-space at home turns into a art-corner.
I only have this small space, so I have to cramp everything I need for running a small business in it somehow, but I think I will manage.
I think creating a space you like, finding the right furniture etc. is a neverending story 😅
