This has been happening all day with the @archive.org's Wayback Machine. Is there an outage?

Turns out these superficially-outdated practices (cursive, memorization, etc.) weren't just funzies to make #Boomers miserable, they served critical #developmentalneeds: capacity for #attentionspan, #boredom-tolerance #delayedgratification #mood-regulation, all the stuff we forgot how to do.

The @archive.org is the line between an #authoritarian #rewritinghistory, a community forgetting its #past b/c it got busy, and poverty of mind for those already in poverty. #AI #slop won't get less #sloppy because of the Archive, but I can tell you what blocking it will do. #stoptheblock

This is exactly right. Modern crime coverage does not serve us well anymore. How often do you see someone shanked as soon as you open your door to go to work? You don't? Well, Janet from Oklahoma thinks because she sees it more now in her social media feed, it's rampant. It's not.

Change my mind: the Internet Archive is our species most important institution. It has all the knowledge necessary for our species to return to our current level of advancement should something apocalypse-y happen. The fact every state government does not have a mirror/backup is reckless.
