Okay, Ghostface looking like Casey absolutely rules.

But what the hell is going on with Peppermint Pinhead and her Doc Brown brain wave analyzer.

Taking a page out of the Monster High playbook, Jakks Pacific's upcoming toy line DOLL HAUS OF DREAD reimagines horror icons as fashion dolls.

Pinhead, Jason, Ghostface, and Billy the Puppet from Saw are the first four dolls being released.

Each comes with killer accessories.

I got to read this one early and it was so sweet and charming, and really accurately represented the anxieties of growing up and starting to grow apart from your closest friends. Plus, you know I love when fangirls get to geek out on some fictional media together. Highly recommend this one!

Cover art for graphic novel Navigating with You Volume 2. The logotype is at the top in an orange font, stylized like handwriting. The illustration shows two young adults facing away from each other but looking back toward one another, holding hands. They're also holding hands with people leading them in opposite directions.

The literacy crisis is not just referring to people's ability to literally read and write. It's also people's inability to read for context.

I've been a public educator for over 20 years and I have never, ever seen it this bad.

The 1:10 ratio cover for Fixation #1 by Lisa Sterle. Depicts a neon television set with a bloody handprint covering a steamy scene from the hit supernatural romance series Blood Mountain. Entertainment console has chips, action figures, and additional dvd cases on it. The cover of Abuzz by Stelladia. Largely blue background meant to evoke a prom dance, with the cast of four high school students standing beneath bouquets of bee-shaped balloons. They are all wearing domino masks, as Beatriz and Hero gossip, Ben tries to show Claudio his phone, and Claudio and Hero shyly reach for each other's fingertips. Cover for Flash Gordon Quarterly #6, with art by Michael Sta. Maria. Depicts Flash Gordon in a space suit with a domed helmet, raising his blaster. Behind him, a shark man emerges from a sandstorm to attack. The cover of the Wednesday Official Oracle Deck, art by Leilani Bustamante. It depicts Jenna Ortega as Wednesday against a black starry background, with black dahlia flowers around her. The box cover has purple foil accents.

It’s a very cleverly put together book that looks at how fandom and the media we love can save us and enslave us at the same time. There’s a lot going on under the surface in Fixation and the whole team deserves their flowers on this one. Raw in all the right ways. You won’t regret picking it up.
