Yup, that’s me. You might be wondering how I ended up in this situation. I guess you’ll have to watch the video and read my full “Meet the Team” interview on the link ⬇️ 🤪

For comms, the needs of the audience must be no. 1️⃣ – and no matter who you’re trying to communicate to, they’re people first.

ZWE's Head of Comms, @anaoliveira0519.bsky.social, sums it up: people connect with people, and a story always sticks with you more than any number could.

It says a lot about the state of your country when you end up apologising to the photo of one candidate and telling the photo of another “Do NOT fuck this up” while putting a cross on the ballot.

Woke up at the crack of dawn to go to my 8am ballet class only to find out that class has been cancelled for today.

I guess the four flights of stairs up and down will count as exercise.

Reading about my former university teacher having walked every single street in Brussels was not on my Sunday bingo card!

(But also: @brusselstimes.com let’s please retire the word “expat”. We are all immigrants, period. Nothing to be ashamed of ❤️)
'I like to read the city': Meet the expat walking every street in Brussels
Expat Manuel Schmitz has walked every street in Brussels, meticulously marking his path with a red pen on a paper map.

📖 The 2024 Zero Waste Europe Annual Report is out!

2024 was a year of political pushback, global disruptions, and mounting pressure on our environment.

Yet we showed that, when people unite around a vision of sufficiency, resilience, and wellbeing, real change happens. 💚

About last week’s adventure in Barcelona 😎
In 2025, we've aligned the co-organisation of the Zero Waste Festival in Barcelona (together with @rezerocat.bsky.social) with the UN International Day of Zero Waste.

Many Festival sessions reflected this Day's 2025 focus on textiles and fashion 👚🧶

Did you know we have enough clothes right now to dress the next 6 generations?

Let’s do more with what we already have, instead of chasing the next fad.

First step: be more mindful of what we produce (and then consume). Is it really needed? If not, then why are we creating it in the first place? 🤔
🌍 In 2 weeks it's International Day of Zero Waste, focusing on #textilewaste, a fast-growing crisis fueled by fast fashion.

The problem?
🔹 Overproduction of low-quality clothes
🔹 <1% recycled
🔹 Harm of communities in the Global South

The solution? Mindful resource use! 👉 zurl.co/w2aWa

Halfway through #Yellowjackets S3 and I really have to give kudos to Sophie Nélisse. I cannot watch teen Shauna anymore without feeling an uncontrollable urge to either slap her or throw her in jail without possibility of parole.

What does 1T of second-hand clothes look like? 👗⛰️

This morning, social enterprises unloaded a small mountain of second-hand textiles in front of the EP to call for action to protect the #reuse market from being destroyed by fast fashion.

Wise words from @esradt.bsky.social to start our working year!
"Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing." - Arundhati Roy's

In 2025, ZWE and our work priorities will continue to share the stories of resilience, regeneration, and radical hope.

Based on a real crime that happened in my hometown back in 2006. Very emotionally difficult to read if you already know how everything ended, and even if you don’t.

Did you know it takes centuries for the average plastic to break down?

Plastic later turns into persistent microplastics that harm our systems.

We must make reuse the new normal across the globe.
