On 9/11/2001 I was 13 years old living in New Jersey about an hour outside of NYC. Many of my classmates lost their parents that day.
I try not to get too overly reverential or “Never Forget”-y, but damn it sucks to see that this has became a punchline for younger generations.

When I was probably 14 or 15, my mom told me that I should pursue a career in medicine, since I liked helping people
20+ years later and she was right about helping people - now I just help them tape their belts in place and cut them out of costumes when quick changes go poorly

I feel like I can sense the growth in myself and my community as a screenwriter, like “oh wow I’m a second rounder!” vs “not even a Semifinalist? hard pass”
My standards are higher and that’s okay!!

Told some of the performers at work that I’ll be out for three days of the run and they all lost their minds and told me (jokingly) that I’m not allowed to go

I’ve never been a fan of pickles, but all of a sudden I am ALL IN on cornichons. Pickle juice martinis with cornichons garnish. Cornichons straight from the jar. I don’t know what’s happening. Maybe I’ll like olives next.

My husband and I like to make aviation cocktails sometimes, except we bought a red cherry liqueur instead of clear maraschino liqueur, so they are unfortunately a cloudy gray rather than the traditional lavender hue.
We call them “dirty mop water”
