I've watched ... too much ... of this district's city council meetings. The GOP shut down a third of the polling places. A commissioner had a guy arrested in his driveway after he said "bullshit" in a meeting.

Political polling is mostly bullshit; at the same time it's not nothing that GOP candidates are apparently coming in with such low numbers in Texas. The best thing you can do is look at the polling and ignore the news narratives around it, b/c either party is gonna try to sell it in their favor.

Thanks to the community speaking up, Wilber has left the detention center to get medical care. This is important news & a positive first step.

Update on the condition of Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez at the South Texas Ice Processing Center. He’s being taken to the hospital. He is in tremendous pain and tells us that the bullet is still inside his left side. He can’t move the left side of his body.

Allow me to briefly say how I know s.e. was a Real One -- we had like maybe a one-hour phone conversation (we'd never met in person, not for lack of trying, when I lived briefly in CA) and they had a fuckin Airtable with PLANS ready to go almost immediately
