Having experienced #GreaterManchester devolution, I can see how it will shape places for generations.

Decisions about transport, housing, health, and regeneration will influence whether active living becomes the norm.

Lots more great examples of physical activity playing its role👇
Sport England director of place relationships, Adam Rigarlsford, explains the reciprocal benefits both our place work and ongoing devolution efforts bring to local wellbeing and growth.

Research shows that 53.8% of adults in the least affluent groups are active, compared with 73.2% of the most affluent.

These differences cannot be explained by motivation alone.

Cost, transport, safety, caring responsibilities, access to facilities, and green spaces all influence.
Lisa Dodd-Mayne, our Executive Director of Partnerships and Place at Sport England, speaks to PoliticsHome on how local knowledge and national investment can work together to get more people active.

Here are 5 things he may focus on:

1) Health inequalities are widening across the UK. As Health Secretary he welcomed the landmark Marmot review and this issue has remained a core part of his politics since.

It's been a joy to work with Tameside Council to document this brilliant school street scheme in Mossley.

The important messages for these projects are always the ones shared by the children we speak to.

Great to see the cross-party political support for these schemes, too!
