Long time fan of Shaman King and the rest of Hiroyuki Takei's works. Doing a bunch of archival work located at https://manga.properties .
I'm loving to see all of the promotion Yen Press is giving Fate Rewinder! There's a wrap-around banner for the series on Anime News Network ahead of it's release later this month. Real marketing dollars being spent, since they know they have a potential big hit coming soon.

(Thread hopefully today) in the meantime to clear up some confusion, Kai-hen Wizards’ serialization is similar to HXH’s where a set of chapters runs consecutively, after which the series goes on hiatus for a bit.
Sunday refers to this as “series” serialization. (1/2)

The lead up to NYCC is great, since there are often a lot of good news that comes out of it. Always glad to see apps add the ability to import DRM-free comics (like from Humble Bundles).

Glad to hear that "Manchuria Opium Squad" is getting an anime! As someone who has been buying the English Kodansha eBooks as they have been coming out, I have a pretty good sense on what to expect from this new anime.

Remember when Crunchyroll tried to make their subtitles significantly worse a year ago? They backtracked on it at the time, but I suspected they were just delaying their plans to shift from Aegisub to OOONA, and sadly, it seems I was right: Crunchyroll is actively pushing OOONA subs to users now.

The Manga Million "Featured Article" section continues to be a very strange thing.
Nice that there's a Juan Albarran interview. But why? He's never published under Shueisha. Only Kodansha and Shogakukan (in Japan).
It's just such odd choices they are making over there...

Promotional trailer for "Asadora!" volume 10, but really is more of a recap of that plotline from volume 9 and earlier.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIaC...
It also has most of "It's Because I Love You", sung by Naoki Urasawa, which is neat to hear it to go along with the manga!

It's not "the new RightStuf", but MediaOCD expanding the store up to include manga is a very welcome addition to the marketplace options.
The chances of me purchasing an anime series and bundling in a volume of manga or two like I did in the RightStuf days is so much more likely to happen.

Looks like there will be a Kodansha 60th Anniversary Party at the NYC Kodansha House next month.
If the capacity is only 60 people... It would be really cool if they did name tags where each person was assigned a year & book from Kodansha's legacy.

It's a lot of spreadsheet work right now. Thousands of lines of data to discover and document. But I've gotten a decent-enough streamlining converting that to a functioning website right now. So I can at least see the super nice version of all this data that hasn't been easily accessible.
Website Update Note:
We are currently working on our next database/spin-off website. Its currently a massive project and has recently made some good progress. Our focus will be on that for a little bit, so you may notice a temporary decrease in new posts on here for a while. We'll be back soon!

Having done this for, uh, almost 30 years now, one of the things that strangely brings great pleasure is trying to figure out a manga series.
You get a cover, and maybe a name, and it's a title that's not in mangadex, mangaupdates, or anime-planet. It's the best kind of research...

I would love it if they would make a 13 episode sequel to the original every couple of years... Maybe this is a step in that direction.
