Reading proofs from book & remembering what I wrote in 2015:

"I am very concerned about the future of AI. Not because of the risk of rogue machines taking over. But because of the homogeneous, one-dimensional group of men who are currently involved in advancing the technology.”

re the Five Thirty Eight reboot, has anyone written about how far Nate Silver has drifted from being any sort of empirical analyst?

“Every walk of life has a seat” is a hilarious turn of phrase. Sit down, you walk of life!
The video clip is much more like a work of political satire (or of outsider art) than it is a convincing argument that Bichotte Hermelyn and her cohort are the rightful leaders of the party that represents Kings County's 1.2 million registered Democrats.
Unpacking the Brooklyn Dems' Typo-Riddled, Psychedelically Weird, Short-Form Victory Lap
The final few seconds of the video contain a fuckup that genuinely made this reporter gasp.

Well that and more importantly Articles 2 and 3 of the Republic of Ireland’s constitution explicitly make it clear that Ireland is a *state of its citizens* and not “the (ethnic) Irish state for all Irish people to the exclusion of the non-Irish citizenry”.

It is therefore not an ethnostate.

I don’t like these pile-ons. I thinks there’s a gladiatorial element. And all the schadenfreude seals us off from self-scrutiny. Way too much reveling in our own virtuousness and not enough sincere reflection.

Incredible news. Illinois Governor Pritzker has signed a law removing testosterone HRT from the PDMP program, a program other states can use to access people's prescription records across state lines.

It will protect trans people in IL from places like TX.
