After a small shipping hiatus (heads down, doing the work on some bigger features), v1.6 is out today. Lots of quality of life improvements we really like: Project preferences and memory, collect into groups, and refreshed sidebar and toolbar.

Feels… quiet around here. But not quite behind the scenes — building lots of things, addressing the roadmap, resulting in some larger efforts and features. We are excited.

V1.5 brings histogram, waveform, and color scopes to Aphera, which are useful tools to gauge how “balanced”
your image is. We're still fans of letting your eye do the judging though. Take a look in the latest update, now with 30-day trials.

We now have a public roadmap!
Take a look at what we've shipped, are actively working on, is up next, and is planned. Active feedback is always good motivation and learning for us to see what you want or need out of a photo app.

We were very excited to have @chrisglass.bsky.social as an early beta user, and it's astounding and gratifying to see the many images he's made with Aphera all collected here on his longstanding site (which is brilliant).

My friends at @aphera.co just launched a new photo editor made for photographers. I've been beta testing for a while and I really like it and today became a paying customer. Looking forward to upgrading my photography workflow with Aphera. [not an ad, I just like it]
Aphera 1.0 is live! 🎉 Download and trial free (no CC required), or grab it now at launch pricing for 50% off for the next two weeks only.
We built Aphera to work with your images intentionally, without overwhelming, and to get your creative flow back. This is just the start!

Been beta testing @aphera.co for a while now. It's the first photo editor since Aperture (RIP) that feels wholly for photographers and, more importantly, the craft of photography.
If you've been holding out for something like that, this is a real gem.
