A forecast of 16°C at 3pm doesn’t answer: is this a sensible time to open the hive? Our post explains why inspection weather is about more than temperature—and how to find the better window.

Nectar weakens, stores pressure builds and inspection windows narrow - Apiary Forecast

Which hive did I feed? How much? When did I treat it? Was that the queen from the split?
Colony Management answer is to give each hive a proper history

Hives Today is really about joining the dots. Weather, colony history and upcoming work sit together, so you can get to the useful question more quickly: what, if anything, needs doing today?

Pollen going into a hive is a good sign, but it isn't the same thing as saying the colony is doing well for nectar.

Pollen going in does not necessarily mean the colony is gaining weight - Apiary Forecast
Watching workers returning with full pollen baskets is one of the more satisfying sights in beekeeping. It's also easy to read too much into it.

“There are flowers everywhere. Why aren't they bringing much in?”
Because bees still need workable flying conditions, and the flowers need to be producing a useful reward.

There are flowers everywhere, so why aren’t they bringing much in? - Apiary Forecast

A colony can have flowers around it and still be using stores faster than it can replace them.
Poor flying weather, weak nectar reward and a large brood nest can change the picture surprisingly quickly.

When a colony looks fine, until suddenly it isn't - Apiary Forecast
One of the uncomfortable things about beekeeping is how quickly a colony can move from being apparently comfortable to short of food and a bit... tetchy.
