From Sunday, affected travellers will have more freedom to continue their journeys using the same or a reasonable alternative route.

Idly browsing the British Museum Bayeux Tapestry gift selection and it's impressively bonkers - and also very good. William the Conqueror as a cat greeting card and Bayeux Tapestry Top Trumps my favourites so far.

3h sleep, my body (and brain) hates me. Have to get through thankfully-short work day and then maybe rest before Diablo 4 season 15. But I would rather be asleep.

Why can't MPs call each other liars?

Part of a new series of 'why parliament is weird' a collection of gripes, oddities and head scratchers...would love to hear your takes on the weirdest things in parliament!
Why parliament is weird (no.1): Why can't MPs call each other liars?
MPs can be quite rude to each other in the House. So why can’t they call each other liars?

It's just weird isn't it when the British Museum is running a sold-out exhibition, when The Odyssey reports $1billion at the box office, when the V&A has just opened the most innovative and accessible museum model in Europe....and this is what our minister for research comes out with.
A cheery message from the new minister responsible for research funding for the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences (and the subjects that the majority of UK taught undergraduate and Masters students study).
Science and maths degrees offer most value to the nation, says minister
Chris McDonald told a room full of vice-chancellors that science, engineering and mathematics ‘offer the greatest personal, social and economic value’

This is literally a plot point in “It Can’t Happen Here” by Sinclair Lewis. Written in 1935, it predicts the rise of a fascist populist who promises each family $5,000 per year if he’s elected.
Trump: "If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate...I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000."
