Let us remember who is truly at fault for all of this arguing over The Odyssey: Heinrich Schliemann. 😄 ⚱️🏺

Text from the monument reductions: 1) Like any of the people who wrote this could identify a lithic scatter on the best day they ever had, and 2) they for sure don't get to say what is of "scientific interest." 🏺⚱️

I am admittedly biased, but all this about Monte Verde seems awfully sensationalized and overwrought. Like Science mag is being clickbaitey, not acknowledging the flaws in the methodology and conclusions, and at the least not giving Dillehay and co. space to respond immediately

I Heart Archaeology.
The American sweet potato was introduced to Polynesia from South America, likely by seafarers crossing the Pacific. It can withstand harsher conditions than taro or uwhi (yam), so its introduction helped early migrants settle cooler southern Polynesia.

Oh honey. That’s a lot of hate for someone whose ancestors wouldn’t have survived a single winter without us. Drink some water. Touch some grass. Maybe smudge that black heart of yours.

We’re still here.
