There’s way too much Harry Potter cosplay at this convention and I’m tired of being told “most people don’t know or care about JKR’s politics.” It is 2026 and she is actively getting laws changed to harm trans people and she brags about how Harry Potter sales fund her rampage of hate.

You should care!! Childhood nostalgia is not worth this. I also grew up with them and had OCs and went to midnight release parties in costume, but there are other fuckin books to read and worlds to lose yourself in that don’t directly contribute to making it illegal to just be alive and happy.

I've had people who can't afford to support monetarily be the reason paying clients find me just through word of mouth alone. My next customer might not see my post, but they might see your repost of my work or comms.
Pro tip: you don’t have to comm artists to boost and support them. People claim they can’t support artists and creators because they are financially strapped, but they can still boost posts, comment, like, and in general just be supportive! It’s completely free outside of an internet connection ;)
