Weird person living in Seattle. Ex-tech worker, in-progress fiber artist. Trans of gender, in the guy direction. Asian. So darn tired.

Expect fabric, swearing, and subjective weirdshit.

Call me Corvus (he/they). I'm just some guy. Queer, weird, furry-ish, etc. It's Seattle, you know how it goes.

I used to work for Big Tech, until illness and moral injury put an end to that. Now I'm trying to reinvent myself as a tailor. Follow me if you enjoy watching people swear at cloth.
Happy June 14th to everyone who will be protesting the shameless corruption and cruelty that's running rampant in the US federal government.

Craft I made a while ago. This was my mask for Ren Faire last year. It's now an entirely unconcerning wall decoration.

Embroidered another keychain square. This one went by much more quickly, with much less strain on my hands. I switched to a slimmer needle, used longer stitches, and made holes in the canvas beforehand with an awl.

Made a soft, scented keychain charm featuring the therian theta-delta. Embroidered by hand, stuffed with balsam fir needles, assembled also by hand (and sewing machine). Embroidery scissors for scale. WIP pics and process in thread. ⬇️

Me: "This bag is going well!"
Me, five seconds later: "WRONG SEAM ALLOWANCE, DUMBASS"

Making a lot of drawstring bags out of quilting cotton. First step is to wash and dry the fabric on hot to preshrink it. I zigzag stitch the raw edges to keep them from fraying in the wash, which saves me from losing usable cloth and saves my washer from being gummed up with stray threads.

Vintage sewing machines will happily sew through anything you feed to them, including vinyl, plushies, multiple layers of heavy canvas, and your fingers
