Fucked up that the Dutch encountered Beavers, and because of capitalism harvested their anal secretions and turned them into hats, under another system the kinship between the beaver and the inhabitants of the Netherlands they would have tried to introduce them to blackface and bike infrastructure.

There is this expectation that The Greens should act like there European counterparts, but that the ALP shouldn't have to put in any of the effort their European counterparts put into co-opting them, we are just expected to accept responsibility without even the illusion of power.
Because the Greens aren't the government and don't have demographic representative weight substantial enough to be dictating government policy. If we go down this route, we end up like Israel - where small parties dominate government policy and direction. Doesn't that work well eh. Time to grow up..
Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to tax gas? Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to build public housing? Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to end AUKUS?

Greens are happy to be constructive about things that materially benefit the public. We are not a rubber stamp.

What part of the American military is most likely to produce a free officers movement do you think? Like when the guy in uniform appears on TV what's the best case scenario?
Among Democrats - "How would you feel if you woke up and saw Donald Trump was removed to safeguard the constitution, with a group of military leaders removing him and assuming control?"

Positive: 56%
Negative: 28%
Neutral: 13%

Curious to know what vicious black propaganda is now deluding the gullible elites of the West, he finds it: Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. He sips his tea. What the fuck

You can see here the true objection that liberals have to the trans community.

If your a millennial you had the gay rights movement filtered through institutions that were mostly dominated by the fairly conservative elites that got on television.
The gay rights message was: "Look, we're just regular people who want to love who we love. What's so wrong with that?"

The trans rights message is: "Support us or go fuck yourself you bigoted asshole."

Guess which one is more persuasive.
They apparently took all of the wrong lessons from the wildly successful gay rights movement, choosing to be as alienating as possible. I won't be surprised if it ends up like abortion and 20 years from now public opinion is effectively frozen on the issue somewhere around 50/50.

Deeply fucked as a culture that we let 90's ABC kids survive mostly as pirate uploads on google, it's important that kids understand were they come from and that means they need to be able to watch the ferals.

It is possible for most of the people involved, particularly the technical labour to believe the most hyperbolic projections, for some of them to act on those projections in pro-social ways, and for me to have doubts about those projections.
I love how AI researchers are putting their careers on the line to warn the public about the dangers and they're just summarily dismissed as marketing gimmicks.

I reach for the can of dog spray only for the Guard to lower his SA80, I freeze and that's all it takes for the Corgis to be on me dragging me down into a sea of stubby legs and fat bellies. In a moment of humanity the guardsman puts two rounds of 5.56 into my temple and then there is only darkness.

From the outside the US the thing that always strikes me is how much objectively the reactionary factions of the democratic party would have to gain in the short term from enabling the Clean Break faction of the DSA.
