Dogs have more social intelligence than many humans
Dogs' eyes track human faces the same way humans' eyes do, focusing primarily on the left side of the face. But they don't have the same gaze bias when looking at other animals, which means dogs are explicitly reading our faces for emotional context in spite of/including the species differences.

Heads-up California, it’s a good month to mask indoors with others. 🚫 zero sick days are really easy with KN95s, @jstpwalsh.bsky.social is around constantly sick college students, we masked 5 straight years to 2026, still 🤯 both NOVID (no kids, never symptomatic) 0 COVID sick days in 5 years.
