📣New publication: Before sowing perennial wildflower fields, farmers were concerned that problematic weeds might establish on their arable land.

We found: 33 native plant species established very well across diverse management and landscape conditions.

🦌🍄 New #BAAE article: Does animal size matter for carrion biodiversity?

A Bavarian Forest study of 100 carcasses found small species like stoat and beaver often support higher diversity than large ones. 🪲

Climate based range estimates overestimate suitable habitat, and protected areas cover only 33% of remaining ranges for open area species. 🍃

🐦🌲 New #BAAE article: Do mixed beech conifer forests hurt blue tit breeding?

Monitoring 63 plots in Bavaria found blue tits laid eggs earlier on beech than conifer trees, but breeding success stayed similar across all forest types. 🥚
