Among the big defensive stances I see on ai is that “a lot of things waste water.” OK? That doesn’t mean we should just bury our heads in the sand and throw more gasoline on the fire.
For all that anti-AI folk get accused of "cope" (often and regularly) with regard to AI, I think a lot of the AI boosterism is cope, and much worse cope.
The world is getting worse quickly and nobody wants to make hard choices.
