Matthew 10:16, rather than "be wise as serpents and innocent as doves" I would translate it as "be prudent as serpents and uncorrupted as doves." Prudent (φρόνιμος) is the presence of mind or "street smart" not just wise; and uncorrupted (ἀκέραιοι) means "not tainted" not just innocent.

In Acts 10, Cornelius and his family received the Holy Spirit while Peter was still telling them who Jesus is. They were already baptized by Jesus with the Holy Spirit before they were baptized by Peter with water. Cornelius was an Italian centurion (a gentile) living in Caesarea.

In English, "behold" means to hold or guard something you already know, but the Greek ἰδοὺ (idou) is to look at something new to you. KJV might have popularized "behold" the meaning to look, but the original has an element of surprise lost in translation. biblehub.com/greek/3708.htm

Do you know what Jesus looks like? He would look shriveled (Isaiah 53), has bronze skin with hair like wool (Revelation 1), and still has mark of nail in his hands (John 20). faith.likai.org/jesus

There are three Ananias in Acts. The first one sold property, lied about the proceeds and died. The second one was sent by Jesus to restore the sight of Apostle Paul after he was blinded on the way to Damascus. The third was a Sanhedrin high priest who tried Paul and ordered his mouth slapped.

Hebrew often names things literally. Joshua 5:9-10 says they kept the Passover (פָסַח - pesach) at Gilgal (גִּלְגָּ֔ל - gilgal). Pesach literally means to skip or leap. Gilgal/Galgal/Galal means wheel or rolling, or the whirling sound from rolling. Galgalgalgalgal... definitely sounds like it!

There is something deeper than crossdressing in Deuteronomy 22:5. The "menwear" כְלִי־ גֶ֙בֶר also means armors and weapons, even though the women garment שִׂמְלַ֣ת is really just a piece of cloth.

Genesis 10:22 lists Asshur and Aram as brothers and sons of Shem. Asshur gave name to the City of Ashur, the capital of the Assyrian Empire now Syria, and Aram gave name to the region and its language Aramaic.

Shem's grandson Eber gave name to Hebrew. This is why Abraham is a Hebrew.

The name Diotrephes in 3 John, literally meaning "Zeus-fed" who refused to welcome foreign visitors, might be a derogatory nickname to avoid referring to a well-known person in the community by their real name.
