White Sox win😀, Cubs lose😢.
An excellent night overall 👍

Great win White Sox, led the entire game in a very difficult stadium to play in Houston.
On to Game 2 😀👍

Having Wild Card baseball playoff games, let alone any playoff game on a streaming service is a crime. BIG TIME!
Both Chicago teams should have been featured over-the-air. But since streamers like Peacock have such deep pockets, we end up suffering having to pay $12.99 a month with ads.
It sucks!👿

This podcast is for those people who don't have time to cook dinner. With Argentinian beef taking over many grocery stores, check out more healthy options like fish, pork, and chicken.

A powerful nor’easter is pounding Philadelphia, New York City, New Jersey, and Boston, plus other places in New England. Flooding and high winds are expected to continue throughout the weekend.
Praying for everyone who is affected. Stay safe everyone. 🙏

A crazy Friday in MLB action:
Chicago Cubs drop a DH in Boston, where both teams were then forced to fly to Tampa for the final regular season game on Sunday.
AL Central might be decided on Saturday, this after Cleveland survived a slugfest 12-9 at Kansas City.
White Sox took care of business 7-1.

With all of this stuff about AI, I was curious to hear what kids are using AI during their studies. The interviews took place in Estonia.
Yes, I usually don’t talk about many international issues, but this subject is to important not to ignore:

What a tangled mess for major bankers in trying to get rid as much debt as possible following the mega merger of Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Here's a great article talking about what comes next:

Paramount’s $49 Billion Debt Sale to Kick Off After Lawsuits End
Bankers are reaching out to investors ahead of the sale of $49 billion in financing backing Paramount Skydance Corp.’s takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery Inc., after the company settled a series of lawsuits that had held up the $110 billion acquisition.

Another thing I love about autumn, breathing the cooler air and wearing some warm and comfortable sweaters and jackets.

Things I enjoy the most about fall:
The changing leaves, a free picture show.
Drinking freshly squeezed (or close to it) Apple cider.
Using different apples not just to eat, but for baking and making applesauce.
Football and volleyball dominate TV and online. Baseball has their battles of October.

Matt Belloni of Puck had his usual Monday guest Lucas Show from Bloomberg on "The Town" podcast, as they talked about the lack of concessions with David Ellison acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery in a stunning move.

A fascinating conversation on such an ugly day in Hollywood:

In a statement released by the Big Ten Conference at 10:34 p.m. Central time, it said:

"Due to weather conditions affecting the court surface, Sunday's volleyball match between Nebraska and Missouri has been suspended.
Nebraska leads Missouri 11-7 in Set 1.

September 7, 2026 at 5:06 AM
The first set of the second match has been moving slower than 20 men batting in the first inning of a baseball game.
Temperatures are below 70 degrees and the humidity increasing, workers are using blowers and a mop with a special solution to dry the floor.
Players continue to dance for 15 minutes.
September 7, 2026 at 3:06 AM
Talk about mopping up a floor, as the Nebraska and Missouri women's volleyball players wiped up condensation inside The Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field in Chicago.
It took nearly 20 minutes for the match to resume. In fact, the condensation got so bad they had to rip the logo off the court:
