#BREAKING: Over public dissents from Justices Thomas and Alito, #SCOTUS *denies* the Trump administration’s request for a stay in the mail-in ballots case.

The USPS Rule will remain blocked—almost certainly through the midterms.

I took a look at where Republican PACs are spending money so far in the midterms:
•43/49 seats getting funding were won by Trump
•21 won by Trump by 9 points or more
•8 by 13 points or more
•Two "Solid Republican" seats that went 60-40 and 61-38 Trump getting attention
Republicans are screwed.
PAC Spending Reveals: Republicans Are Screwed in the Midterms - The American Prospect
The analysis shows that Republican-affiliated groups are spending in a number of seats that should be almost automatic wins for their party.

To be super clear, the federal district court did *not* "restore" the GOP map, HB1. Instead, it forbade the state from using anything *but* HB1.

However, the MO Supreme Court explicitly said the state *cannot* use HB1. That ruling is still in effect.

So we have apparently conflicting orders.

If a clerk uses HB1, they risk violating an injuction by the MO Sup Ct. If they use the 2022 map, they risk violating a TRO by the federal district court.

Further legal proceedings will likely be required.
The weird situation in MO:

State Sup Ct said that GOP map (HB1) could *not* be used. SCOTUS declined to disturb that ruling.

Federal district judge said that HB1 is the *only* map that can be used.

Right now, that puts county clerks in a serious bind if they're to comply with both rulings.

Please don't overreact to Roberts Court decision on the contemplated USPS ballot moves

They simply held that the injunction came too early in the process, before there was a final rule👇

Now we HAVE a final rule & we will litigate it. I'm as confident in our arguments here as in any of our cases!
