Thought for the midterms: I remembered the tv ad run by the Johnson campaign in 1964, showing a little girl picking flowers as a countdown is heard. The ad ended with this: ‘on November 3rd, vote for President Johnson. The stakes are too high for you to stay home.’ Some things don’t change.
