No, Vivek definitely wins this contest
Haley Stevens managed to steal the "worst move in an election ever" designation from Vivek Ramaswamy. Not easy.

winds me up the more i think about it. "do we get the party to turn on transphobia by promising our votes?" no. "so we do it by withholding our votes?" no. "by electing them and then calling, protesting?" no. "then what?"

you get a transphobe candidate to publicly, personally, embarrass leadership.
the search begins for the haley stevens of transphobia whose bigotry and self-centeredness will reach such titanic highs that the candidate personally embarrasses and insults dem seniority to a degree that they have to loudly condemn and punish it

Going into the week of the midterm election, and Taylor Swift is talking about the harmonica in her Toy Story song and going back to her country roots while Olivia Rodrigo publicly endorsed Dr. Amy Acton during her concerts in Ohio, wearing a campaign T-shirt and gave her flowers on stage.

Remembering the time in the 1980s when Andrew Wyeth revealed a trove of nearly 250 magnificent works, the Helga paintings, and the art world got real mad about it

An extraterrestrial attempting to impersonate a human:
Spotify CEO Söderström:
“If you’re an artist today from the ‘80s or ‘90s, the way that you would make more money today is to hope that some other artists would create a remix or cover of your song. Now, you can hope that your fans actually create remixes and covers of your songs.”
“The product would allow paying subscribers to use AI to create their own versions of popular songs, such as transforming a folk song into a dance track or making one artist appear to cover another’s music.”

I wonder if anyone whose diagnosis of the core problem with the Democratic Party is that it is constantly undermined by devious DSA-Bernie-Bro wreckers on the left will learn anything from the 1047597308th example of the actual wreckers being centrists.

It’s always “a lesson for leftists,” even when it’s the shittiest imaginable centrist backing a Republican. Centrists have no agency or responsibility
the whole Haley Stevens saga is a good lesson for both moderates and leftists: throwing a tantrum and “witholding your vote” by refusing to support democrats just makes everyone mad at you and diminishes your influence
this is ridiculous wrecker shit from stevens, at least crockett is mostly just staying quiet in texas

it’s also going to look completely embarrassing when he wins easily next week and I hope her political career is over

Yesterday I used the term "extreme center" in a panel discussion and the audience applauded so I'm thinking we're good to go on this.

The center is behaving in an extreme, antidemocratic manner...and this has become an unignorable fact.
