I've been covering prediction markets intensively for just over six months now and felt like it was the right time to unleash this take... to understand them, you need to understand that they are a type of media company: www.wired.com/story/predic...
Polymarket’s Next Bet? It Can Also Be a Media Company
The legal battle over whether prediction markets are a form of gambling has overshadowed something else entirely: They’re already a new form of media.

The Hamilton Ontario HSR nonsense continues...
Hamilton City Council promised last week that HSR (which Council said was operating at "99 per cent") would be at 100 per cent service today - including school trips.

Right now, there are bus cancellations in every area of Hamilton.

No HSR managers on duty to provide detailed info. #hamont #yhmcc

Hamilton Ontario, HSR buses, classic mismanagement
I just ran an analysis of yesterday's HSR GTFS data.

According to the General Manager of Public Works, the HSR only missed "14 trips" total on Tuesday.

According to HSR real-time data, the HSR 74 actual trips yesterday.

Let's presume a few transponder errors, still >14 trips #HamOnt

HSR service fiasco this morning.

NO HSR managers yet working to give updates

HSR service to McMaster University is chaotic due to this morning's lost of nearly 40 per cent of service capacity along the corridor.

Numerous buses are 30+ mins behind schedule.

More trips being cancelled. #HamOnt
