Obviously any threats and even direct contact complaining to him or his family is dumb and unwarranted. But. Let's be real it wasn't following the Olympics. It was following him befriending Canada's biggest threat to our sovereignty.
#NHLJets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff said their security team and even the police got involved to an extent after threats and online vitriol were directed towards Connor Hellebuyck and his family following the Olympics. Can’t speak to how much that has played a role here.

Montreal is lovely and I am having a great time but also I've gone in like 7 souvenir shops and each have Habs stuff, Expos stuff, Blue Jays stuff and not a single thing for the Victoire. One place we asked the guy and he rolled his eyes. We didn't spend any money in his shop.
