This is what state sponsored segregation looks like in Texas. Racist radical Greg Abbott is starving kids in public schools of food, healthcare and education. His plan of cutting taxes will seal the deal. He’s ruined Texas. #FireGreg #FireKen #FireDan and for god’s sake don’t make Ken a senator.
Tomlinson: Abbott promises to starve public schools of tax revenues
Gov. Greg Abbott’s plan to cut property taxes will starve public schools while he sends state money to private schools.

Rep. Robin Kelly (D-IL): "I want to tell people we all in this together. Whether you're on SNAP or not, if people can't buy groceries, that affects the large stores and the small stores ... They won't need as much food, so the farmers lose out also. We are all in this together."

Amazon Prime day is upon us. Please resist the urge to go there and buy anything. Go to the seller's store and buy it directly. Unless you don't mind putting more money in Bezos' pocket.

Why does ‘The Watsons Go to Birmingham - 1963’ still resonate? It's a masterful exploration of trauma. Author Christopher Paul Curtis wanted to "show how young people try to deal with tragedies and see things in ways that we as adults don't see." #Velshi #VelshiBannedBookClub
Velshi Banned Book Club: ‘The Watsons Go to Birmingham – 1963’ by Christopher Paul Curtis
The beloved children’s classic and Newbery Honor award-winner, ‘The Watsons Go to Birmingham – 1963’ by Christopher Paul Curtis. Although the church bombing is central to the plot of the novel, this “is the story of a family,” says Curtis, who uses the juxtaposition to make his point. “It's not a story, per se, about the civil rights movement or about hatred, – it's a story of a family and a group of children's reaction to an event that they don't understand.”
