It's only like 4 pages! I was gifted a collection of Borges's work in high school and it really impacted me. That said, I don't love the translations that are currently available, the ones he did jointly with Norman Thomas di Giovanni are a bit better imo.

I also reread the aleph about once a month!

Yeah, the books are clearly written at the pinnacle of thinking game theory would solve all human behavior forever (1951). Relatedly, everyone is constantly smoking and (unlike the show) there are no women characters. Personally, I really liked the show!

You've seen the classic Krugman paper right?

Also, shoutout to @patrickarp.bsky.social who is by far the most prolific user. I've never seen an undergrad try to read every health economics paper but he's clearly doing it!

There's also improved bibliography management, with bulk editing, easy filtering, etc.

The for you feed is a very simple recommender system based on the graph of people you follow, the authors you read, the journals you read, and the tags you read. You end up with papers read by people reading similar stuff to you.
October 8, 2026 at 11:37 AM
Lists let you share syllabi or other paper lists with other people. You can also autopopulate them based on other user activity, and star recommended readings.
October 8, 2026 at 11:37 AM
Now clicking on an author takes you to all of the feed's reading activity. Clicking on a paper will let you see who else is reading it, and what notes they left. Raj Chetty is unsurprisingly popular.

We've crossed 500 papers on papers.club! There's also a bunch of improvements:
1. A recommended feed
2. Author + Paper pages
3. Custom lists (for e.g. syllabi)
4. Better tags / filtering / sorting
Anyway right now the whole thing is almost entirely ~30 economists but anyone is welcome!

Imo the single best quality of life improvement is switching to this feed as the default: bsky.app/profile/did:...

Yeah that's all thanks to Opus 5.5 suggesting the structure, I can't really claim credit.
September 24, 2026 at 8:11 PM
Yeah that would be cool! The data structures I have are all pretty simple so I imagine it would be pretty easy to figure out how to e.g. import a bibliography and its tags into semble.

I don't know how Zotero works, so maybe! I'll look into it. This whole project is ~a day old.

Login and all the data is handled by the protocol. Idk if this will be used by anyone else, but if you have been looking for zotero that is also strava then this is the app for you! Curious for thoughts / feedback / requests.

I made a little social bibliography atproto app. You can post papers you read and see what your friends are reading. Paper info autofills from links, and it exports to bibtex. There's chronological and following only feeds, maybe more to come, and you can organize papers into lists for your own use.

Every year is a new set of triumphs and failures and goals and adventures, but this is just kicking me in the stomach today. What a wonderful moment but also what a different time. Anyway if you haven't listened through the epic you should.
