Our very small school for students with dyslexia is in a tight spot and needs about $50,000 to cover basic expenses through the end of the year. If you could share this, we'd be eternally grateful!

The white supremacist terrorists are employed by the government to keep doing exactly what they were doing.
5 years ago, I sat on Zoom school with students who were confused & scared by what they watched unfold. It was important then & it's more important now that we tell the truth. The whole truth: the white supremacist terrorists who attacked the United States Capitol are free, emboldened,

I quit my job in August due to TX 89th Leg SB 12 requiring teachers to deadname and misgender students, as well as banning all discussion of identity and orientation. Nearly two months later, I have not found another job. So after the first month, I applied for unemployment.

My MIL runs a small school for students with dyslexia. Half of her students attend for free, and she doesn’t know if she can make payroll past October. BUT we’re having a fundraiser - and you can help!

Grading my students’ writing with AI is another thing I refuse to do.
Every rich person is going to tell *you* how great AI teaching is while sending *their* kids to the kind of schooling the Ancient Greeks would recognize. I just wish everyone would think about why that is.
I think we’re on the cusp of mass attempts to automate teaching, and I also think it is going to be a massive wasteful failure in ways that will make the “learning loss” of the pandemic look like a speed bump next to a mountain.

I quit my job today. I had to sit in a training where I was told state law now requires me to disrespect students by misgendering them. I felt the need to ask if my tattoo counted as violating the law that we can’t discuss gender and sexuality with our kids. I was told to hide books I love. I refuse

Sometimes you color code a book for the most basic motifs and ideas and run out of colors… I could easily assign a dozen more. How do you teach something this rich? Layers and layers of meaning… this is my favorite unit by far. #longwaydown #jasonreynolds #hsenglish

Thurmond was the same age as Booker when he set the record Senator Cory Booker just broke.
Thurmond was afforded a bathroom break and read from the encyclopedia. Booker held the floor the entire time and delivered a consistent, cogent speech for more than 24 hours.
Incredible.

Spent the day at @nttbfest.bsky.social Ed Day, heard some great speeches, got to meet @librarianjones.com whose work is absolutely critical. Also wound my way through aisles of books like I had all the time in the world. What a nice feeling.
