LeBron earned every nickel and I have been a fan forever and think he's the GOAT but this is so goddamn slimy and greedy like this man knows there are families being destroyed by gambling and there's absolutely nothing he can't afford to buy. This is Bond villain shit. You're so rich already man.
From @theathletic.com: LeBron James will make nearly four times as much promoting the Polymarket prediction market as he will from playing basketball. The deal may not break NBA rules, but it raises uncomfortable questions.

WHATS IN THE BOX??

It's a bonus episode of Scott Hasn't Seen for the NextHeads, and the most expensive episode in the show's history!

Scott, Sprague, and honorary co-host @connorratliff.bsky.social open a mystery box that will change everything they thought they knew about The Next Karate Kid!

The industry being run by Zuck, Musk, and Sam Altman (3 guys who have never made shit and either bought or stole their way in) with backing from Trump and the GOP. Are you really trying to sell me that this isn't a house of cards scam? Are you that gullible?

In a stance that puts him at odds with other notable NBA stars, Victor Wembanyama says he would never lend his name to FanDuel, Polymarket or any other sports betting site.

“Honestly, I think it’s very sad to see some players promote it,” he said.

- meta ai giving your address to strangers on fb marketplace
- stole a scientific breakthrough and presented it as its own work

This is quite cool. My university is the first organisation in the world to force Microsoft to allow us to turn off copilot summaries in Word 365, after a backlash against it from staff (including, very vocally, me). That cannot have been easy for our heroic IT people so hats very much off to them!

An individual in Canada used ChatGPT for eight months to plan one of the country’s worst mass shootings.

Yet, if you listen to politicians and media, the real threat of AI is a fantastical scenario where it might wipe out humans in ten years. They need to stop getting fooled by tech deceivers.
The media has the AI threat all wrong
Generative AI is harming people today. We don’t need to waste time fantasizing about science fictional scenarios.

The U.S. Attorney has repeatedly tried to disclaim any knowledge of what was happening in the Broadview 6 case.

Today, the AUSA who presented the case to the Grand Jury resigned from the office and filed a brief making clear that "the Front Office [was] informed of all developments in the case."
Mecklenburg's attorneys: "Ms. Mecklenburg kept the Front Office informed of all developments in the case and followed its instructions."

And: "the U.S. Attorney directed Ms. Mecklenburg to order an expedited copy of the Oct. 9 grand jury session."

Boutros said he doesn't recall reading it.

This puts mainstream Democrats in a real pickle. Should they support their incredibly popular mayor or a foreign leader who is best friends with Trump and works overtime to get Republicans elected.

No easy answer here
Netanyahu directly attacks Zohran Mamdani (and his wife) from the UNGA podium, calling him the "antisemitic mayor of New York City," parroting The Free Press's stories about Rama Duwaji, tying Mamdani to Hasan Piker, and claiming the mayor is "buddies" with Hamas.
