i messed up something on my old account and ended up deleting it in attempts to fix it. did i make things better, worse? i do not know. i guess we’ll see.
gave up on dark souls 1. it was fun while it lasted, but after defeating the two gargoyles and ringing the bell, the game brutalizes me no matter what direction i head in.

good. this area of cincinnati needs some real love and attention. businesses have been leaving like crazy for the past five or six years now. maybe this will be the catalyst that will bring in some real growth.

honestly, really sucks for us as americans and we’re going to be feeling a lot of pain from this if things continue to play out as they do. in the long run, i think it might be for the best. i don’t think it’s healthy for entities to hold massive amounts of centralized power and influence . . .

One of the coolest things about people who don't have a lot of power taking a principled stand is it lays bare the complete cowardice of the ones who actually *do* have power when they fail to do even a fraction as much.
Unlike Macklemore, these support acts don’t have big followings and they are giving up their chance to perform to stadiums to push back against censorship, not of themselves but of a fellow artist. Respect.

a new friend of mine, a wonderful man, has a tattoo that says “silence = death.” not knowing what it was about, he explained to me the history behind the message, the aids epidemic, and its impact on the very vulnerable gay community.

there’s a very real awkwardness in a lot of mid ‘90s tech design and form factors, probably partially due to new ideas and technologies bumping up against size and power constraints. this one is a perfect example. it all has a certain charm to it though, that’s lost in today’s phones and tablets.
With the original version of the HiSaturn, there wasn't much difference, but Hitachi did produce a more radically different one at the end of 1995: The HiSaturn Navi. Squashier and boxier, and with car adapters and GPS Navigation via the clip on screen.

if you ever wonder how Americans became the richest major country on the planet but most of us still feel so poor, looking at what we spend on cars — not just directly but in tax money for infrastructure and space in the built environment — is the answer.
Great reminder that the ongoing and intensifying American affordability crisis cannot be solved without major land-use changes (ending sprawl, accelerating infill development at scale) that enable people to ditch their cars and access cheaper/more sustainable mobility modes
