A little fun fact about me, when I'm sketching traditionally, I only really my trusty Bic pens (not sponsored lol), no pencils here. I started this habit of only sketching in pen last year to fight the perfectionism demons and build more trust in my lines, and now I prefer it that way.

"what if my art is ugly or bad?" what if you were someone's favorite artist. what if someone was inspired to become an artist because of you. NEVER stop posting your art!!

If you are commissioning an artist, and want a specific pose, don't run to genAI to try and make it for you. Draw a stick person.

Stick person poses are beloved among all artists. We can see exactly what you want. Do not fear sending the stick person.

The stick person is magical.

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✨HAPPY PRIDE!✨🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

i'm trans and gay, masculine as in oscar wilde, and this is my first pride with top surgery! 🙏🌿 it's gonna be a hot trans gay summer 🔥
Photo of me wearing armour. Drawn on top of me are top surgery scars and my two flags: trans and mlm gay. 2 different portrait illustrations side by side. Left: Alder is a green skinned eladrin elf paladin. He stands nude in a forest. He wears a gold crown of laurels on his head. He looks down at the ground. He holds a sword in one hand, and a sprig of alder branch in the other, he has a shield attached to one arm. He is surrounded by green trees and yellow flowers. Right: A digital illustration inspired by the pairing Hansry (Hans Capon and Henry of Skalitz from the game series Kingdom Come Deliverance). The illustration is influenced by a scene in the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice. It is separated into 3 panels. Panel 1: Hans Capon looks behind him in quiet shock at his bodyguard Henry. Panel 2: Henry has touched Hans' ungloved hand with his gauntleted one in a gentle hold. The panel is surrounded by blooming flowers: herbs and plants that Henry can forage on his journey. Marigold, St John's Wort, Valerian, Sage, Chamomile, and Dandelion. Panel 3: Henry meets Hans' eyes with an unreadable expression. He quietly yearns beneath it. Two portrait aligned digital illustrations of book covers. Left: An illustration of Afaeran and King Galdor from the webcomic Wundor. They stand in the centre, facing each other. They are bordered by Ancient Greek inspired white columns and an arch above them. The columns are covered with grapevines, vine leaves, and hanging purple grapes. Afaerun is an oche skinned elf with flowing light pink-white hair, and wears a curved silver and ruby tiara, he smiles as he looks at King Galdor. King Galdor is a purple skinned monarch with a single white horn growing from his head. He has flowing dark purple hair, and wears a red leaf laurel. He holds Afaerun's cheek in a romantic embrace. Right: The cover for the book The Need for Dandelions by Alex Larkspur. Two men stand back to back surrounded by depictions of dandelions. The man angled to the front is Galen. He has tan skin, red hair, and hazel eyes. A large portion of his face is covered by a burn scar. He wears a yellow tunic and brown pants, along with a pink flower pendant. He lifts up one hand, and looks concerned. The other man, facing towards the back but looks over his shoulder, is Sasha. He has light brown hair, dark brown eyes, and stubble. He is wearing leather armor and green shirt and pants. He is holding a sword. Photo of my ye olde trans rights stickers and trans knights stickers. The ye olde rights stickers are on a beige banner background and decorated with medieval inspired flowers of blue, white, and pink. The trans knights stickers are on a shield banner coloured in blue, pink, and white.

Y'all. Please remember the artists that drew these things when sending around memes. I feel for these artists who NEVER get credited for these (and some, nowadays, are even being accused of being AI!) Here's a few common ones I see (feel free to add others, I want this to be a living thread): 🧵

A health related flare up and perfectionism combo kept me from finishing this “mermay” piece before May ended😵‍💫, but I wanted to share it regardless. (So we are gonna pretend its still mermay just for this post) #mermay

taking commissions for july! b/w gothic illustrations, portraits, surprise illustrations, and comic pages are all available for a limited time⭐

vgen.co/vampbyte
A grid of various illustrations and comic pages created by me. Text reads "VAMPBYTE commissions open" A dark illustration of a vampire wearing a tattered hood. He has shaggy black hair, red eyes, and long fingernails. He's holding a strange occult object with a dangling crow's foot at the end. In the background, various other unusual occult objects (a mask, a jar with a fetus, a skeletal hand with jewelry, etc.) are visible. The art has a red ornamental border with the word BLAISE on one side. A portrait illustration of a man with pale skin and black hair staring at the viewer. He's wearing a black trench coat and is putting on a pair of black gloves. Behind him is a wall and a framed picture of a black butterfly, both splattered with blood. A black and white comic page. In the first panel, a long-haired man with elf ears is holding up a lantern in the darkness to look at something. In the second panel, he uses a dagger to cut through a wad of flesh, revealing the face of a person beneath (SFX: SKKKT). The third panel shows a gigantic blob of flesh and many agonized human faces peering out from it, being consumed.

please understand. artists don't get nearly as much feedback (praise, comments or otherwise) as you think they do. much less than years and years ago.

we don't know how much you like it. we don't know how it affected you. unless you say something, or recommend it, comment, reblog. anything.

go tell your favorite artists you like their work. you may think they hear it enough or your praise would be identical to someone else's so you say nothing, but i promise you they would love to hear it. and sometimes they need to hear it.
