I know it's not Bandcamp Friday yet, but fuck it.

This is my latest, a musing on nostalgia, filtered and processed through things. 24 months in the making just about

My biggest client decided to go all in on AI slop and is now completely suspending operations. As such, if you know someone that is need of a writer, editor, content strategist, etc, please send them my way. My portfolio is up-to-date, my rates are affordable, and I can do damn near anything.

My record collection at this point can be charitably be seen as someone who grew up after WW2. Still, Glenn Miller and Cole Porter slap

Replaced pressure pads on a trio of cassettes that are all older than me today and felt like a wizard when my manky copy of Bark at the Moon sounded like I just bought it.

Drove 65 miles to try and dispose of some old gasoline at a local facility. Finally arrived at the intended place only to be told they are no longer taking donations. Overall, a good use of like 4 hours of my day. Side note, Inferno by BoC is solid.

I guess 2 years is long enough to wait for another release or something.

Flitting through my spam filter, which receives dozens of random solicitations from fake authors weekly to talk shop and get featured in exchange for a nominal fee. I usually junk these, but I had a hearty chuckle at this one. I doubt Murakami would cold email some random Southerner out of the blue.

Slowly but surely, I've been chipping away at a novel that I'm mostly proud of so far. Gotta fix continuity errors and shit, and big ups to @frogknightmusic.bsky.social for providing some delightful inspo music while I try to evoke the pastoral vibes.

I can just about guarantee that any art that has a passionate fanbase of a few hundred people is superior in most every way to any piece of art that is popular and successful but not particularly beloved (except by undiscerning "consumers")
I dunno, I think stuff that is niche or has a cult following or a handful of people who deeply care about it, I think all of that stuff is important and a crucial part of any healthy artistic ecosystem. Most art falls in this category

Man, looking for extra work in this market is a bloodbath. If you or anyone you know is in the market for a contributing writer, don't hesitate to give me a look. I have flexible rates, an absurdly efficient work ethic, and I don't use LLMs to collate research or generate text. Somebody pay me, pls

Friendly reminder that I offer up affordable mastering services for all sorts of audio. Audiobook? Yes. Breakcore? Yes. And so forth. Trying to make up for some shortfalls going into March, and the more folks I can book, the better.

If you're on the hunt for audio that sounds nice without having to pay a princely sum to get your stuff mixed or mastered, please hit me up. Currently trying to make up for a gap in my clients from my freelancing writing gig, and you're patronage is always appreciated.

Woke up this morning to find out I am taking a substantial paycut. As such, if you are in need of mixing and mastering for affordable rates, please contact me. Currently, I'm like $1800 a month short of where I should be just to keep my kids fed and the lights on.

Thinking back to my college bio teacher being presented with a packet of paper from a classmate refuting climate change, taking a single glance at the author, and telling my classmate to leave the lecture room. I only wish to channel that sort of energy in my 50s.
