"In fact, there’s reason to believe that they could counterproductively hurt employment. That’s because when you take away people’s health insurance, their otherwise manageable health conditions turn into unmanageable work barriers."
“Ninety-two percent of the targeted Medicaid recipients already work, are in school, have family caregiving responsibilities or have disabilities.” The proposed work requirements have nothing to do with waste, they are designed to cut enrollment through paperwork. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/08/o...

People-centered, not tech centered: focus on the outcomes people experience not which toys you want to play with

Government is not a business: companies pick and choose profitable customers, governments have an obligation to serve everyone, particularly when it seems inefficient to do so
New, from me: Once memory-holed, DOGE is now the subject of revisionism.
To better understand why DOGE failed, I talked to people in the civic tech movement that DOGE displaced, who continue to offer the alternative model for how to modernize govt. 🧵

DOGE vs. Civic Tech
As DOGE revisionism picks up, a contrast with the civic tech movement it displaced illuminates its failure

If you think this doesn't affect you, you are wrong. If Musk thinks you might vote against his interests, then Grok will label you ineligible to vote and you will be purged.

The first bombshell in the war to steal the midterms just landed in *your* lap. What'cha going to do about it?
Jackson:

"The harm caused by burdening or disenfranchising even a few lawful voters outweighs the nonexistent harm that the Government experiences when it is prevented from taking an action that it likely lacks the authority to take."

The real fraud, waste, and abuse is Citizens United.

The people Trump pushed out of the government weren't wasting money, they were getting in the way of the grift.

Remember as you read this: the money being talked about is your money, money being stolen by corporations as "smart business"

DOGE lives on in spirit if not in name. The damage continues. Your government continues to be stolen from you
Thousands of government sites run on USWDS. It's what makes them 508 compliant, trustworthy and easy to update.

We're scrambling to make backups in case of catastrophe, but this will be a hugely time-consuming and costly mistake if they intend to rip it out and replace it with vibe coded trash.
We've got some DOGE activity over at USWDS (US Web Design System).

DOGE had kicked existing staff out and brought in a crony by the name of Sam Corcos to take over the systems.

This is actively occurring today. We will get more info to you as we can.

trans rights are human rights
In Massachusetts, we have a responsibility to protect the vulnerable and stand up for those who need it. We don’t throw trans kids under the bus for political points. We protect them—and all of our neighbors—because trans rights are human rights.

It's never about states' rights
From day 1 we said the Dobbs decision was never about states' rights, it was about limiting women's access to care.

To put an end to these relentless Republican attacks, we must codify reproductive freedoms in law & make clear that a woman's right to choose is her decision.
Louisiana’s abortion pill case could wipe out access in blue states

GOP has controlled Ohio's state goverment for 15 years, during the explosive rise of fracking. In that time they've allowed Ohio to become Pennsylvania's toilet. Pennsylvania is pumping its waste into Ohio's backyard.

How is nobody mad about that?

Today, Josh Hawley did exactly this in a letter urging DOJ to investigate abortion info site Plan C.

If they are guilty, put them in jail. Stripping them of citizenship is just to get you used to the idea of stripping people of citizenship by doing it to terrible people first. Then slightly less terrible people. Then just people they don't like. Then you.
There's a point when authoritarianism stops disguising itself. Imagine citizenship being revocable based on the whims of a select few political appointees.

Federal workers take an oath to the Constitution, not to a president or a political party.
