I finally have a website that actually reflects everything I do.

Imagine a website about Mitch Buchannon that focuses on his lifeguarding but completely ignores his nightly paranormal detective work!

THAT WOULD BE INSANE.

Anyway. cadumais.com. It has books, editing, speaking, and fewer ghosts.

Spent the last two evenings learning about Rob Delaney's son Henry and just basking in the joy and heartache of A HEART THAT WORKS. It's been a long time a book has reduced me to tears.

I wish Delaney never had to write such a book, but I'm thankful he did.

This aired nine years ago yesterday. This line alone gave me chills, let alone what came next. Still the absolute best.

FANS (for the last 30 years): We want our superheroes stories gritty and realistic. People need to finally take the genre seriously!

LANTERNS introduces racial politics into its story.

FANS (today): NO! NOT LIKE THAT!

This is the first time since April of 2025 that I am working with the whole house to myself.

This is fascinating. The original was meant to recapture the lightning in the bottle Tony Scott and Tom Cruise achieved with TOP GUN by cutting and pasting the story with different vehicles. It should’ve worked, but the 90s looked at that rehashed 80s bombast and said no thank you.
First tease at ‘DAYS OF THUNDER 2’.

• Starring Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway

• In theaters on June 2, 2028

To me, my X-Men, or not to me.
I appreciate the kind messages about not getting cast in the new X-MEN. There are lots of reasons why I wasn’t picked, but it mostly came down to not auditioning, not being an actor, and looking nothing like Rogue. Thanks again, everyone!

One of my favorite running bits in AVENGERS WEST COAST was Wonder Man angrily flying away either from Wanda or because of Wanda. I was delighted that the trend continued in WONDER MAN (V2).

I listened to this last night and just loved the hell out of it.

Even though I have a reading pile that looks like the ass-end of a game of Jenga, I just ordered another copy of MOBY DICK (with the Hester Blum intro) and plan on reading along.
🚨Alert! We’ve made the 1st episode of our Moby-Dick podcast free to lure you in. YouTube below & it’s free on Apple Podcasts & Spotify too. And Episode 2 is out today for subscribers! Treat yourself! 🐳 youtu.be/VDACQq663UQ?...

One of the most transcendent movie scenes I've ever seen. If you haven't watched ANOTHER ROUND, don't click the link to the scene. See it in context and thank me later.

Why an editor is important:

HEMINGWAY: For rent. Clown shoes. Worn twice.

EDITOR: Who rents clown shoes?

H: For sale. Clown shoes. Worn twice.

E: If they're for sale, they should be new.

H: For sale. Clown shoes. Never worn.

E: It's still too long.

H: For sale. Baby shoes. Never worn.

As Odyssey Summer heats up, this book should be in the conversation. I can't recommend this one enough.
Since everyone's on an Odyssey high, may I recommend my novel MORE ARGONAUTS? A tale set in the world of Ancient Greek mythology, & a battle of wills between an Author & his Muse. HC and trade PB.

I wanted to read THE KIRA, but my parents could only afford A KIRA.
We were poor growing up so we had to buy abridged manga. I only got to read The Gist of The North Star

I hope Eva Mendes is in the new GHOST RIDER movie. I also hope the new GHOST RIDER movie is a secret FACE/OFF sequel.

I haven’t watched this movie since I was a kid, and I was obsessed with it. I even went to Waldenbooks and got the book. It was the first book I ever had to special order and wait for it to arrive. It was like a whole new world had revealed itself to me.
It's the 45th anniversary of WOLFEN, a very strange and compelling urban horror film

Apparently, most people on Twitter found out about Muammar Gaddafi’s death from me.
Okay, my QUESTION OF THE DAY is…

What is your weirdest actual accomplishment?

Not the biggest necessarily…but the weirdest?

Rewatched this recently for the first time since the 80s and was blown away how much better it was than I remembered. It really needs to be in the same conversation as FRIGHT NIGHT.

After years of research, I now have information about the greatest threat to humanity. A danger that will consume all of us within the next three years. It's already too late.

You can read about it in my new book, WE'RE GOING TO DIE (co-written with Jake Tapper) from Simon & Schuster in Fall 2028.

Here's where I am with the Stephen King library that I've been putting together for the last few years.

The books have taken over an entire corner of my office and are organized by publication order (with some liberties here).

At a glance, I have almost everything he's written in hardcover.

Writers (of whatever), if you've ever sold a short/poem/essay, is the first venue that you sold to still in business?

My first actual sale was to Ideomancer back in 2002 or 2003.

They are defunct.

What was yours?
