California Alzheimer’s Association
@californiaalz.bsky.social
We are the statewide voice for the Alzheimer’s Association and the 2.2 million Californians directly impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementia. 💜
Join us in thanking @schiff.senate.gov for his Senate leadership and signing on as a cosponsor of the #ASAPAct. Removing barriers for blood tests=standing with the Alzheimer's and dementia community. This is our "mammogram moment".

Thank you @senakilahweber.bsky.social for authoring #SB950! Because of your leadership, CA health plans must cover FDA-approved Alzheimer's and dementia treatments starting Jan. 1st. No more step therapy delays! A meaningful win for Californians impacted by dementia. #Care4ALZ

Aanya from Irvine urges @schiff.senate.gov to cosponsor the #ASAPAct! This is our "mammogram moment, because when the mammogram was approved to be covered, so many lives were saved, and that's what this act has the potential to do for Alzheimer's disease." #ENDALZ

Thanks @asmdamonconnolly.bsky.social for co-hosting this important educational event and all that you do to help 2 #Care4ALZ! The event was well attended, and attendees learned more about supporting their loved one w/ALZ. We'll see you at the Sonoma-Marin #Walk2EndALZ on October 3rd.
This Tuesday, I hosted an Alzheimer’s virtual community event alongside the Alzheimer’s Association. This was an amazing way to connect with the community and share about how we can improve support for a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

Thank you to everyone who joined!

This #WorldAlzheimersDay, we advocate in support of the #ASAPAct. Researchers developed blood tests that can detect Alzheimer’s before symptoms appear — progress that now exceeds what Medicare covers under current law. Please cosponsor the #ASAPAct to change this @schiff.senate.gov!

"What early detection means is that family members can have access to information and care, and we can better make sure that those family members are doing all of the things that can make a difference in their quality of life."
@schiff.senate.gov, please cosponsor the #ASAPAct.

Randall of So. San Francisco shares that "both of my parents lived with #Alzheimers. I was a caregiver for my mother in her later stages. It's very important for me to know whether I may be a candidate for Alzheimer's."
@schiff.senate.gov, cosponsor the #ASAPAct to expand screening!

San Rafael resident Erin recalls her mother's #Alz diagnosis and that "there was no hope really. There was nothing we could do, and I think that early detection and the new medications that we have would have given us more time together." Cosponsor the #ASAPAct @schiff.senate.gov!

"Until [my brother] passed away, we did not know that there was an opportunity to get it properly diagnosed, and having access to good treatment and access to early detection goes a long way in relieving the stress on caregiving." Please cosponsor the #ASAPAct @schiff.senate.gov!

Early diagnosis and treatment is the gold standard for diseases like cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. We now know early diagnosis and treatment leads to much better outcomes for Alzheimer’s disease as well.
@schiff.senate.gov, please cosponsor the #ASAPAct.

The @californiaalz.bsky.social Southland Chapter Board jointly urges @schiff.senate.gov to cosponsor the #ASAPAct. Families are waiting for a diagnosis that sometimes never comes. We need early screening tests to provide them with answers. #ENDALZ

A simple blood test could flag Alzheimer's years earlier, but Medicare can't cover it yet. Tell @schiff.senate.gov to help change that by cosponsoring the bipartisan #ASAPAct (S. 3267)

Every day without SB 950, families fight two battles: Alzheimer's, and their insurance company. This bill ends "step therapy" delays and gets FDA-approved treatments to patients faster. @cagovernornewsom.bsky.social can sign it into law. Tell him to: alz-ca.quorum.us/campaign/x1ijb9vg

@governor.ca.gov has SB 950 on his desk. It requires insurance to cover FDA-approved Alzheimer's treatments, bans "step therapy" barriers and puts doctors, not insurance companies, in charge of care.

Tell him to sign it: alz-ca.quorum.us/campaign/x1ijb9vg
