People over the age of 70 account for 53% of all cancer cases in the UK, despite making up just 14% of the population.

We’ve been speaking to the public about the new Tobacco & Vapes Act, and many share a sense of optimism. The legislation means that around 13m children alive today in the UK will never legally be sold cigarettes in this country.

A historic moment! Today the Tobacco and Vapes Act has become law and it’s a huge step towards a #SmokefreeUK.

This world-leading legislation has now made it illegal in the UK to sell tobacco products to anyone born on or after 1 January 2009.

25 years ago, our scientists helped prove the link between HPV and cervical cancer, laying the groundwork for the HPV vaccine.

Today, we’re supporting global efforts to prevent cervical cancer through HPV vaccination in countries where the burden is highest.
