A wasp new to me and our Send, Surrey garden yesterday (13 June) is Holopyga ovata. First record in England in 2020 but known previously from Jersey and Sark.

Last year I was really happy to see six Painted Lady Butterflies in our Send, Surrey garden. So far this month I've seen four in the garden and one each at Squires, East Horsley, RHS Wisley and RSPB Pulborough.

A daily garden sighting since August 21st has been Locust Blowfly, Stomorhina lunata. Today, two males on their lookout on the back of a metal chair and this one on a Hydrangea flowerhead. Females are here but not seen so often.
